Just a fairy tale?

One of the best parts of any production of Peter Pan is when the children in the audience are asked to clap if they believe in fairies. The thought of hundreds of little hands clapping and hearts believing is bringing a tear to my eye as I write.

I still have the book of fairy tales I loved so much as a child and I can picture the rugged face of Rumpelstiltskin and the leer of the wicked witch. As a kid, my favourite fairy tales had a generous helping of creepy with a dash of weird.

Books by Neil Gaiman and Ben Aaronovich are currently haunting my bedside table, so I suppose some things never change.
