One of my first travel assignments was a weekend in Blackpool. Our itinerary was crammed – we rode The Big One, watched as fish serenely swam by at Sea Life, marvelled at the skimpy hen night outfits from the window of Harry Ramsden’s and gasped at the acts at the Blackpool Tower Circus.
We make tracks up to Blackpool every year for the Illuminations – this time they are shining right through until early 2021. I can’t wait to ride the tram to Bispham and walk back under the lights, looking out for Blackpool’s silent son Sooty on the way.
